Varicose Veins

Varicose veins are swollen and enlarged veins caused by weak or damaged valves allowing blood to flow backwards, collecting in the vein. Most do not cause health problems, but sometimes they can be painful or cause complications.

There are several ways of treating varicose veins, including a surgical procedure to remove them under general anaesthetic.
