Profile:

Dr Stuart Linton graduated from Edinburgh University in 1990.  He initially trained in Rheumatology in the West Midlands before being offered the opportunity to complete his higher specialist training in South Wales.  During his appointment in Cardiff he was successfully awarded an Arthritis Research Campaign (ARC) Clinical Fellowship, spending two years in laboratory-based research investigating novel therapies for the treatment of inflammatory arthritis.

Dr Linton was appointed to the post of Consultant Rheumatologist in Gwent in May 2000 and continues to work as a full-time, general clinical Rheumatologist with special interests in the diagnosis and treatment of early arthritis and metabolic bone disease.  He has also served as Lead Clinician in Rheumatology for a number of years and currently chairs the Health Board secondary care prescribing Committee as well as being an active teacher and trainer.

When not in work Dr Linton is an avid reader of a wide range of material, involved in local youth work and is a keen (though technically challenged) skier and ballroom dancer.
