Shoulder Replacement

The shoulder is comprised of three joints which together allow the shoulder to move. The largest is a ball and socket joint and, during shoulder surgery, a metal ball on a stem is inserted into the upper arm bone and a plastic surface is fitted to the socket.

This procedure is used for patients who have suffered an injury or general wear-and-tear.
