Sara Carty, MBBS, MRCP

Profile:

Dr Sara Carty has been in post as a Consultant Rheumatologist for 2 years.  Her clinical interests include general rheumatology, inflammatory joint disease, connective tissue disease and soft tissue problems.  She has recently set up a new joint physiotherapy biologics clinic for patients with ankylosing spondylitis.

Dr Carty's research interests include biologic therapy for Rheumatoid Arthritis, cytokines in arthritis and clinical trials.

Prior to her appointment in Gwent Dr Carty was a Clinical Lecturer in Rheumatology at Cardiff University where she gained her PhD in Rheumatology.
