On the first visit the patient will receive a thorough clinical assessment. This includes a physical examination, after which the physiotherapist will agree an individual treatment plan. The patient will normally be treated and given a home exercise program on their first visit.
Hydrotherapy
St. Joseph's Hospital Hydrotherapy Centre is a state-of-the-art purpose-built facility situated within the beautiful grounds of the hospital. The centre boasts a 40 square metre pool fitted with all the latest therapy and safety equipment, including flume jets, hoists, showers and disabled changing facilities. The pool is kept at a constant temperature of 35 degrees centigrade.Why Hydrotherapy?
Hydrotherapy enables people to achieve movements which are otherwise difficult or impossible due to pain and stiffness. The warm water and buoyancy encourages movement and provides pain relief and relaxation.
Who can use the pool at St. Joseph's Hospital?
