Profile:

Mr Gethin Williams qualified from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1994.  For a two year period of research and his thesis into the molecular biology of colorectal cancer he was given the award of Master of Surgery.  He undertook his higher surgical training in Wales followed by a prestigious national laparoscopic colorectal surgery fellowship.  This was for a six month period at the Leeds General Infirmary where he was also trained in complex pelvic surgery and proctology.  Mr Williams commenced his appointment at the Royal Gwent Hospital in April 2008.  His interests are in the use of laparoscopic techniques for colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel diseases.
