Research Interests:  

These include the pre-symptomatic detection of colorectal polyps on which Mr Stephenson wrote his masters thesis entitled "Familial Colorectal Neoplasia: A Screening and Genetic Study".  Mr Stephenson has published on a wide variety of subjects and is proud to have authored over 100 peer-reviewed articles particularly in the fields of colorectal and hernia surgery (www.pubmed.com).

Professional Profile: 

Mr Stephenson has a wide experience in all aspects of elective and emergency surgery having trained in London, Leeds and South Wales.  He has a busy NHS practice and runs the Hernia pathways to streamline and improve patient care.  Mr Stephenson spent some time as a mission surgeon in South Africa and is fortunate to still be able to continue operating in many foreign countries on a charitable / humanitarian basis, primarily on groin hernia patients.  Mr Stephenson has given Plenary lectures for the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain & Ireland and the European Hernia Society.
